Dear Instrumental Music Parents,
Hello, and welcome! The Instrumental Music Parents Association (IMPA) is the Booster organization that is so vital to maintaining a strong instrumental music program.
It supports your child's involvement in:
Marching Band and Color Guard
String Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra
Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble
Jazz Ensemble and the 501 Lab Band
Winter Percussion and Winter Guard
The Boosters count on your support in two ways:
We ask that you volunteer time and energy.
We seek your support through the annual "Direct Appeal" fundraiser to offset the high cost of running these programs. This vital funding source enables the music teachers to offer outstanding opportunities for your children to excel in performance, musicianship and leadership. Your support goes toward training clinics; allows the Boosters to buy, replace and repair instruments; and pays for sheet music and other items necessary for running a quality music program.
The IMPA's Direct Appeal is different and separate from the payments you make through the "Charms" system for Music Council (or "Fair Share") funds. The Direct Appeal is a critical funding resource deployed for immediate needs NOT covered by school district funds and Music Council payments. It is the only fundraising campaign the association conducts each year, so the Boosters depend on your participation to plan a great year of music opportunities for every student involved. Please consider making your tax-deductible donation early in the new school year so that the Boosters can set budgets accordingly.
The entire MVHS community is invited to donate. The Boosters request a donation of $350 from each family whose students participate in Instrumental Music.
Contributions of any amount are appreciated and will benefit the student musicians. The IMPA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so your contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and may be eligible for corporate-matching gifts. Please check to see if your employer provides matching funds or will translate your volunteer hours into a matching gift that reduces your own contribution.
Thank you for helping the IMPA build a positive social environment that aids your children's growth and achievement in academics and other school activities. This program is the result of decades of building and nurturing by school teachers; staff and administrators; and parents like you!
